A new online tool co-designed by aged care industry experts and considered a significant enabler of better workforce planning is available free of charge for home care and residential aged care providers.
The Aged Care Workforce Industry Council’s (ACWIC) Workforce Planning Tool captures and presents workforce insights so providers can better understand the current state of their workforce and plan for future scenarios.
Also offering a focus on dementia and the increasing demand for nurses, the online solution is available to aged care providers at no cost, with ACWIC establishing a ‘Lunch and Learn’ session to introduce providers to the tool.
“There has been significant interest in ACWIC’s Workforce Planning Tool in the months since it was released, and we are determined to ensure it reaches as many providers as possible,” Interim ACWIC CEO Sarah McLelland said.
“We are inviting aged care providers to join us as they seek to enhance their capability for workforce planning and we’re confident the online ‘Lunch and Learn’ session is a great platform to do so.”
“During the co-design process, we heard that aged care providers are finding it hard to know where to start with workforce planning, so we are offering really practical assistance.”
The session, led by an ACWIC representative, will demonstrate how to enter workforce information into the tool, provide examples of how to analyze skills mix and workforce data, and answer any questions.
The Lunch and Learn session will be held online on Friday 25 November from 12pm to 1pm AEDT.
“The tool is easy to use and I encourage all Workforce Activity Planners and others who might benefit from using the tool to join us for this practical session,” Ms McLelland said.
