‘Best Practices for Best Employers™’ Labor & Employment Seminar

  • by

Join Lane Powell for this year’s always popular and informative Best Practices for Best Employers™ Labor & Employment Seminar that attendees call “by far one of the best in the country.” Ideal for employers, HR professionals, in-house counsel, and managers, this notoriously sold-out (get your tickets fast!) seminar provides the most up-to-date employment practices, legislative changes, and industry trends employers need to prepare for in the coming year. Join us to learn what to do now to be ready for changes in 2023.

We are back in person this year, but for the health and safety of our guests, we are keeping the capacity limited. This means that in-person registration will fill up quickly and tickets available will be first come, first served. Due to these limitations, please consider only sending 1-2 people from your organization to the live event. Please let us know if your plans change and you are unable to attend so we can offer the ticket to someone on the waitlist.

That said, if the event sells out or you don’t feel comfortable attending in person, we want to ensure this education is accessible to all and have an exciting new attendance option. This year we will be recording the presentations live during the event on Thursday, October 13, and are making them available for delivery right to your inbox in November with our Recordings Only Pass (in-person attendees will also receive a link to the recordings). Please note there will not be a live virtual option for this event.

We are eager to share these exciting and informative presentations from our attorneys and speakers!

Special Guest Speakers

New in 2022! We are thrilled to welcome hybrid workplace expert, Katie Aldrich from FRINGE. She will share her insight into how to navigate the modern workplace where 63% of companies now employ hybrid workers. She will answer the burning question most HR professionals and leaders are asking themselves in this hybrid environment, “What should employers be doing now to engage and retain talent?” Building on the latest research, Katie’s program will explore core communication and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in a hybrid working environment.

Blake Barnes from Microsoft will join Lane Powell’s Priya Vivian to discuss pandemic-related employment litigation trends stemming from unique issues arising in the pandemic, and what leaders can do today to mitigate that risk. Blake is Assistant General Counsel at Microsoft, where she manages their employment litigation. With more than 25 years of experience, she has advised and trained management and human resources on all aspects of employment law, with particular emphasis on litigation.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our guests. With that in mind, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR or rapid test result within 24 hours will be required. We will follow the masking guidelines in effect at the time under local, state, and federal law.
