Christmas in the Village returns to Kids’ Safety Village in Whitby

The Kids’ Safety Village in Whitby is ready to welcome thousands to their upcoming Christmas event, “Christmas in the Village.”

Constable Vanessa Ford says there will be crafts, characters walking around and of course, Santa will be there.

“Our windows this year a phenomenal,” said Ford. “Peeking through the windows and seeing all the displays that are set up, all the lights. Every house is decorated. It’s kind of like coming into a Christmas movie.”

She says there will be a number of photo opportunities as children explore the completely gated miniature village.

The crafts will be inside and Ford says the whole village is accessible.

Elexicon Energy will have a bucket truck on static display and two Durham police cruisers will be there as well along with an ambulance from Region of Durham Paramedic Services.

The event is free, but you’re being encouraged to bring a donation for the Durham Police Food and Toy Drive.

It’s happening from November 24-26 and then again from December 1-3. The village will be open from 5 pm to 8 pm all six days.

It’s located at 1129 Athol Street in Whitby.
