  • by

For the first time ever, the Colorado High School Activities Association will be hosting a National Honor Society/National Junior Honor Society State Workshop.

The CHSAA office, along with the National Association of Secondary Schools Principals (NASSP), the parent organization for NHS, NJHS, NEHS, and National Student Council is working together to provide another opportunity for classroom teachers.

This workshop will take place tomorrow, Sept. 23, at the Fremont Building (CCSD’s Elevation Campus), from 8 am-3 pm

One of the many objectives of the day will be to assist attendees to better help them understand how to build connections between honors-level academics, varsity athletics, and activity participants. We will also be discussing community service, equity, and Colorado-specific issues related to our schools.

Speakers include:

  • Elancia Felder, NASSP’s NHS Program Manager
  • Chuck Puga, Principal (Retired)
  • Rashaan Davis, CHSAA assistant commissioner

Over 45 advisers have signed up to attend this event, coming from all areas of the state, representing both middle school and high school.
