  • by

AFTER an absence of three years Enniscorthy Lion’s Club was delighted to once again promote its annual ‘Christmas Food, Wine & Craft Fair’ in the Riverside Park Hotel.

he event was promoted by the organization in conjunction with Enniscorthy & District Chamber and Enniscorthy Hockey Club.

The event was a great success and provided an ideal platform for craft workers from all over the county to display their wares to the widest possible audience.

There was great interest in the event because it was an ideal opportunity to get perfect Christmas gifts while at the same time showcasing the depth of talent that exists within the craft sector in the Model County.

The numerous stall holders offered up an eclectic range of items and for the craft workers it was an event that paved the way for the run-up to the busy Christmas season.

A spokesperson for the organizers commented: “Practitioners of various crafts from the hum of the potter’s wheel, the click of the weaver’s shuttle, hammer blows to the anvil and the calm of needlework are to be found right across the county. In towns and villages and down country lanes the practitioners of traditional crafts are to be found.”

Many of those craft workers had their wares on show at the event.

Enniscorthy Lions Club members have a proud record of organizing hugely successful events of this type and Lions Club president, Dr Mairead Kelly, said interest in this year’s event was “phenomenal”.

The organizers were very appreciative of the support the event received and thanked all those who contributed to its success.
