Jean Craft Sadler, 83, soared to be with her Lord on November 14, 2022 in her home at Morningside of Bellgrade. Before coming to Morningside, she was a long-time resident of West Point, VA. Her battle with heart disease and pain from arthritis is over. She fought the battle hard, but finally surrendered to the demons of ill health.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert D. Sadler, Jr.; parents, Jesse A. Craft; mother, Mary Lee Davis Craft and sister, Sheila Craft Piacentini. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn T. Sadler (Leo); son, Robert D. Sadler, III (Kim); and three grandchildren, Ace Sadler-Esp, Chance Sadler and Samantha Sadler Hall (Jonathan); two sisters, Frankie C. Ashley (Jim), Becky Pumo; brother, Bill Craft (Celia) of Florida.

Jean attended Pam American Business School and worked for an attorney for a short time. She was an active member of West Point United Methodist Church and enjoyed her involvement in the quilting guild, Friends of the Library, United Methodist Women, Red Hatters Society, and the Association for Research and Development. Because of her love for children, she was a scout leader for many years, and taking care of her grandchildren always gave her great pleasure.

Jean was a very gifted lady in many aspects. Her sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, needle point, embroidery, cross stitch, smocking, ceramics and cooking were all executed to perfection.

While living at Morningside, she loved to do her daily crossword puzzle, play Bingo with her many friends and always looked forward to happy hour with the gang. Reading was a favorite past-time for her and she never tired of watching Harry Potter movies.
