Thornlie man arrested after police chase through Rivervale, Victoria Park, Redcliffe and Burswood

A man has been charged after a dramatic police chase through Perth’s southern suburbs.

At 10.40pm on Thursday police spotted a Mazda CX-30 station wagon speeding on Welshpool Road in Welshpool.

Officers turned on their emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle.

Police allege the driver did not stop and continued to travel at speed through the suburbs of Rivervale, Victoria Park, Redcliffe, and Burswood before entering the Graham Farmer and Mitchell Freeways.

Police Air Wing monitored the vehicle and assisted officers on the ground, resulting in the driver being apprehended on the Mitchell Freeway in Warwick.

A 38-year-old man from Thornlie was charged with multiple offenses including stealing a motor vehicle and reckless driving.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday 25 November.
