WA police have charged a 50-year-old woman in relation to the death of another woman, aged 53, who was found collapsed in the Perth CBD on Monday.
- The 53-year-old woman was found unresponsive on Monday afternoon
- Police have charged a 50-year-old woman with unlawful assault causing death
- Another woman who later died was found at the same intersection in December
The victim was found at the corner of Wellington Street, near the intersection of Pier Street, at about 1:50pm on Monday.
She was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital but later died from her injuries.
Homicide Squad detectives allege the 50-year-old woman assaulted and seriously injured the woman.
The accused will appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on January 25, charged with unlawful assault causing death.
The woman’s death comes less than six weeks after another woman, aged 22, was found unresponsive near the same Perth intersection.
That woman’s body was found in a car park, also near Pier Street and Wellington Street.
A 27-year-old Newman man was charged in December with committing an unlawful act or omission with intent to harm in relation to that woman’s death.
Police alleged the woman was earlier assaulted by the man in Yagan Square, about 500 meters from the parking area where she was found.
